LONDON – Like many other couples, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan move to the suburbs before the anticipated birth of their first child.

Authorities said Saturday that Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will move from Kensington Palace in central London to Frogmore Cottage, a house on the grounds of Windsor Estate, early next year.

The couple, who got married in a chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle in May, are expecting their first child in the spring. Windsor is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) west of central London.

The palace statement said that "Windsor is a very special place for their royal highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence is on the farm."

Windsor Castle is one of the favorite houses of Queen Elizabeth II. It is surrounded by a country of horses where he used to walk frequently in his youth, and it is known that he prefers the castle and its surroundings to Buckingham Palace, his most formal official residence in central London.

Harry and Meghan have been living in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace since they announced their commitment last year. They will keep their office at Kensington Palace, which is also the home of Prince William and his wife Kate.

Frogmore Cottage is a stucco-covered two-story house on Windsor Estate. It is close to Frogmore House, the great seventeenth-century mansion where Meghan and Harry celebrated the evening reception for 200 friends after their nuptials earlier that day.

The house and the house were called Frogmore because of the many frogs that lived in the swampy area near the River Thames.

The movement means that William and Harry will no longer live close to each other now that Harry is forming his own family. William and Kate have three children.
