Ovation for Glenn Close
The most outstanding speech of the night was given by American actress Glenn Close as she picked up Golden Globe as the best actress for her role in Kona ("The good wife").
Nearly 71 years old, reclaimed to the first surprise to receive a prize that apparently had not expected and offered some words that set foot on assistant to the gala.
"It took 14 years to make this movie," Close said, referring to Kona, which is an adaptation of a novel from 2003 by Meg Wolitzer.
"His name was Kona, I think that was why it took so long to do so, "he added, and awakened the audience's laughter.
"I think of my mother who gave the whole life of my father and when she was 80 years old, she told me," I have nothing, "said the actress about her mother, who was 18 when she married and she spent her life as king of a surgeon.
"And it was not right … What I have learned through all this experience is that women take care of others, that is what is expected of us, we have our children and our husbands if we are lucky and we have companions , let it be
"But we have to find a personal fulfillment. We must follow our dreams. We must say, "I can do it, and I have to be allowed to do it," he exclaimed at the audience.
In this line, actor Regina King, the winner of the Best Supporting Award If Beale Street could speak, he promised that from now on everything he produces will be parity, with 50% of the team consisting of women.
Another of the striking nightly discussions was that of Christian Bale when he picked up the Golden Globe as the best comedy actor for his performance as former American vice president Dick Cheney in vice.
"Thank you, Satan, for giving me the inspiration to play this role"said Bale, before joking about director Adam McKey's reasons to give him this role.
"[McKay] He said to himself: "I have to find someone who has no charisma and who is offended by everyone," and then he thought of Christian Bale, "he said.
In addition to these interventions, the gala was developed in a lighter and less political tone than the two previous years, in which the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House (2017) and the scandal of sexual abuse complaints in summary #MeToo (2018) was the subject of most comments.
