Claire Underwood had no problem filling her husband's shoes.
House of cards & # 39; The sixth and final season will air next month, but there was a time when it was not known if Netflix's political drama would return.
The protagonist of the series, Kevin Spacey, who played former president Francis Underwood, was fired from the show last November after accusations of sexual assault, which he has denied.
Robin Wright plays Francis's wife, Claire Underwood, on the show and is now assuming the lead role after the expulsion of Spacey.
"There was no doubt," Wright told ET about his return for a final season, while at the season premiere in Los Angeles of House of cards on Monday night. "We wanted to close this program the way it was always intended for fans, and equally important was that we would have fired more than 600 people, so it was just to end the security they expected."

Wright, who looked fierce at the premiere in a black top with a black suit and high heels, told ET that the last day on the set was exciting for everyone involved.
"It was bittersweet, a lot of tears and nobody wanted to leave!" He said. "We were in the Oval Office until 3 in the morning, dancing." He added that there were "a lot" of drinks to help with the fun.
House of cardsThe final season premieres on November 2 on Netflix.
