Next year, fans of DC Comics will receive a film of origin focused on the best Batman nemesis when Joaquin Phoenix becomes the Joker.
The next film promises to be an action-packed character studio, which shows how a person can become the clown Prince of Crime. And with the movie being filmed in New York City, fans have been glimpsing what to expect when Joker It opens in theaters next year.

The first synopsis of the next film has just been published, and promises an in-depth look at the origin of the super villain:
"Joker focuses on the iconic archiedemic and is an original, independent story that has not been seen before on the big screen." The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man ignored by society, is not just a study of courageous character, but also a broader warning tale. "
While the film could be classified as part of the superhero genre, Phoenix stated that it is not about anything more than talking to Collider.
"I would not rate this as of any gender," Phoenix said in a recent interview. "I would not say it's a superhero movie, a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more than anything, and probably most important, is that Todd seems very passionate and very generous, and that's exciting I think that, under the excitement of these films, and their size, there are incredible characters that face real life problems, and sometimes that is discovered and exposed, and sometimes not, and that's why I always felt that there comic book characters that were really interesting and deserved the opportunity to be studied, and then I think that's what Todd sees as attractive about this idea. "
A role like the Joker does not seem to be the one that would normally interest Phoenix, but it will follow in the footsteps of recognized and award-winning talents such as Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Jared Leto.
"I take a lot of time and consideration when making decisions and what I'm going to work on, always." Phoenix added "Then, somehow, the process, which obviously is to read a script and meet with a filmmaker and then continue having meetings and discussions with Todd [Phillips]. I think he's very impressive and he seems to have a very interesting understanding of this world and what he's trying to say. And, then, there is something very attractive about it and to work with him on this particular project. It feels unique, it's your own world somehow, and maybe, for the most part, it scares me a lot or something. It could be what scares you the most. "
Joker It opens in theaters on October 4, 2019.
