If things are going well for Josh Radnor in his latest role, he will have a character who can tell a new group of children how he met his mother.
The actor will appear in "Gray's Anatomy" as a potential love interest for Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) in the Thursday night episode, TODAY confirmed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the number of episodes of Radnor's long-running drama is not clear.
The character played by the 44-year-old heartthrob may be Dr. Gray's recipe for the decidedly unhealthy love life since a fatal car accident claimed the love of his life: her husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka McDreamy. Famous played by Patrick Dempsey.
But that bad luck may be changing thanks to a blind date with the mysterious eligible bachelor of Radnor.
Clearly a long time has passed, a point extracted by a small comedy in a clip released to People before the episode. "What happened? Are you going to a funeral?" Says Gray's sister-in-law, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), after spying on Meredith in a tan coat before the blind date.
Radnor, of course, is best known for playing Ted Mosby, better known as the "I" in "How I Met Your Mother" in the hit comedy that was published between 2005 and 2014. Ironically, he has also had a fictitious license to practice medicine, in the short-lived drama of the PBS Civil War, "Mercy Street."
More recently, the Ohio-born actor was seen in the NBC musical drama, "Rise."
Radnor's debut in "Gray & # 39; s Anatomy" will air Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
