The pace that took over in 2018

2018 was the year of the urban genre, especially the Latin trap and the Puerto Rican artists, who undoubtedly played a leading role.

It was top notch. Among these were the concert "Trap Kingz" by Bad Bunny at the Congress Center in Puerto Rico, an event that gathered a lot of 25,000 people – outstanding number – and it ran without major events. The Vegabajeño artist sang about 40 songs for more than two and a half hours and was accompanied by more than a dozen urban musicians, including Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam and J Balvin.

But the good run of this artist did not leave during the year, and the collaboration with Cardi B on the theme "I like it"; with Marc Anthony and Will Smith, in "Está rico"; with Drake in "Eres mía"; and Jennifer Lopez in "I liked you".

Another important moment was Anuel's departure from prison in July. The prisoner's jail had worked many problems from prison and at night after leaving the federal prison, he discovered that his album Real Hasta la muerte was ranked number one in sales and reached # 4 on iTunes at the level world.

The year began with the celebration of the Lo Nuestro Awards, where the opening of Daddy Yankee with Pitbull was highlighted, and a special version of "La Vida es un Carnaval" by Celia Cruz, spoken by Víctor Manuel with The Special Participation of Bad Bunny, who gave him a very special flow. Ozuna and Wisin y Yandel went through the scene, putting on the taste with an unexpected reunion.

The genre was again awarded the most popular musical galas with the presentation of the Latin American Music Awards, where Ozuna and Bad Bunny came back to monopolize the attention, as well as the opening of the music of Wisin and Yandel.

And Latin Grammy was not the exception. From the expected opening with Bad Bunny, Marc Anthony and Will Smith, to the presentation of Nicky Jam with DJ Steve Aoki and his song "Blame it on alcohol", and Bad Bunny medley with the victory of Daddy Yankee with "Dura", the Night belonged to the genre.

In addition, urban music was the owner of YouTube, a platform that stood out Bad Bunny, Ozuna and J Balvin. Among the numbers published recently, Ozuna would have been able to accumulate 8,700 million visits, while J Balvin the 7 100 million reproductions, the same number that would have reached Bad Bunny.
