At the age of 88 Monday (26 November), the personality of the Slovak and Košická opera, opera songs, director and educator Božena Hanáková died. TASR informed the spokesman for the state theater (ŠD) Košice Svjatoslav Dohovič. In the basketball theater Hanáková has been in operation since 1954 for more than 50 seasons.
Theater and opera was given to Hanáková in Vienna, born in the family of theater artists. As a child, she played in opera productions of the Slovak National Theater (SND), where her mother worked at that time, the mezzo soprano Ružena Kustrová. At the Academy of Performing Arts she studied opera singing and dancing.
"Immediately after school she joined the state theater Košice, where she performed a number of opera and opera characters – Jolana and Julia in Cigánska Lava, Adel in Netopier, Valencia in Vesele widow, Zerlin in Don Giovanni, Musetta in Bohemia, Rosina in Barbier from Sevilla, Olympia in Hoffmann's short stories and many others, Dohovič said. Together with his spouse, actor Jan Hanák, they later formed a stage statement that underwent numerous operational and operetta performances in the Košice theater, with Danica Hanáková, a costume designer, I In 1997 she prepared her latest production – Opera Giuseppe Verdi La Traviata, which was played on stage for ŠD to January this year.
"She has been faithful to Košice Theater throughout her professional career, but she has been successful in Prague, Ostrava, Brno, Miškovci, and she has also performed on trips in the Netherlands and Germany," said Dohovič.
The ensemble of šd Košice Opera presents its monument and remembers the performance of Verdi's Nabucco opera on Wednesday, 28 November.
