A historic Detroit mansion has been sold, owned by the last singing legend Aretha Franklin.

the Detroit News reports that, according to public records, the 5,600 square foot (520 square meter) brick home adjacent to the Detroit Golf Club reached $ 300,000 in a sale last month. It was built in 1927.

The newspaper reports that Franklin bought the house in 1993, but almost lost it in 2008 due to unpaid property taxes.

Franklin Estate's personal representative, Sabrina Garrett-Owens, says "there are no other Detroit properties" that were owned by the Queen of the Soul.

His 4,148-square-foot (385-square-meter) colonial-style home in the Bloomfield Township suburb of Detroit is still listed for $ 800,000.

Franklin died of pancreatic cancer in August in his apartment facing the river in Detroit. She was 76 years old.
