Team TARDIS to meet renowned enemy on New Year's Day

adminDecember 26, 2018

They are baaack.

The BBC bucked the tradition this year by delaying The doctor like holiday special, instead of a yuletide teaser, choose a (not so surprising) twist.

"This is the DNA of the most dangerous creature in the universe," says the doctor, in what appears to be the same New Year's trailer circulating since the beginning of the month.

Apart from, instead of confused companions and a history lesson, the clip ends abruptly with a familiar sound: Daleks.

Despite a promise to have brand new monsters for thirteenth doctor Jodie Whittaker's debut season, showrunner shows Chris Chibnall back to basics to call in the new year.

(It is unclear whether this is a product of the main author's own wishes, or whether there was relentless pressure from the great bosses to recover any orders for the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey series.)

The famous (ie exhausted) villain first appeared in 1963 The doctor like serial "The Daleks."

Inspired by the IRL Nazis, the fictional characters are violent, relentless, and relentless cyborg aliens, hell bent on conforming to their will, the conquest of the universe and the extermination of "bad races" – especially Time Lords.

Queen voices and stupid aesthetics aside, Dalek's (for some reason) is the most popular opponent of the show, back to battle every incarnation of the doctor (wore Paul McGann's TV movie Eighth Doctor).

Next week we will find out what happens when the tough eyes meet Team TARDIS again. Set on BBC America on January 1 for "Resolution", written by Chibnall and directed by Jamie Childs.

As The doctor like season 11 came to an end this month, the BBC announced that the series 12 will follow in "early 2020." The entire gang is set to return, including Chibnall, Whittaker, and companions Mandip Gill (Yaz), Tosin Cole (Ryan), and Bradley Walsh (Graham).

Meanwhile, satisfy your urge with three thirteenth doctoral novels by Una McCormack ("The Molten Heart"), Steve Cole ("Combat Magicks") and Juno Dawson ("The Good Doctor").
