Ranveer Singh's Simmba works with his magic at the ticket office. With positive words to mouth reviews, Simmba is set to have a brilliant run on the counters.
Padmaavat registered Rs 19 crore on the opening day and was Ranveer's biggest opening until yesterday. It was crushed by Simmba who recorded a huge collection of Rs 20.72 crore on day 1.
Ranveer Singh talked about the Simmba Day 1 performance, saying in a statement, "It's an incredibly humble moment for me. As an artist I've always tried to experiment, and I'm happy that my content choices are loved by the audience who wants to see I throw my mold every time I come on the screen. "
The film is helmed by Rohit Shetty and has Sara Ali Khan opposite Ranveer. Simmba, released on December 28, is Sara's second release after Kedarnath. It is produced jointly by Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions.
Rohit Shetty directorial has received mixed reviews. In her review, The Indian Express film critic Shubra Gupta wrote, "The only reason to see Simmba is Ranveer Singh.
