Other than the last season of Game of Thrones, the third of the season of Netflix Stranger Things may be the most anticipated return program in 2019. The horror-meets-80s-pastiche-meets-coming-of-age story has captured in a big way, with its young cast members becoming celebrities and fans wondering what's new hell Upside down will unleash our heroes next.
The show's third season will fall next summer. Talking to The Telegraph At Heroes Dutch Comic Con in Utrecht, the star spoke Street Matarazzo (Dustin) about what he could expect. "It's scary, it's darker, it's funny," he said. We can expect known second-rate evil from Upside Down to return, "but it is also a completely new form of opposition to our heroes."
And also there will be a mall, the most scary threat to all:
Matarazzo also addressed how long the series will run, something that has been in the news lately; For any reason, a number of outlets have had the idea that the third season of the show will be the last. Matarazzo put everyone right:
I know [creators] Matt and Ross [Duffer], their goal is not to go as many seasons as possible. It will be until they complete their story and I have heard that the magic number is either four or five. We have just finished three – three are not the last one planned.
Duffers has thrown around four or five seasons number before, mention it E! last year. "It's hard, as if four seem short, five seem long. So I do not know what to do." So we do not know exactly how many times we return to Hawkins, Indiana, but we can be sure to know that It's more than a trip in our future.
