Spider-Man Tom Holland eats pumpkin for the first time

He can play an American superhero, but Spiderman Star Tom Holland had never tasted one of our most festive holiday foods, pumpkin, until now.

Holland, 22, joined chef Jessica Largey and filmmaker Joe Russo at the Simone de Russo restaurant in Los Angeles for what the Associated Press called an "exclusive cooking lesson" on Wednesday.

There, he was introduced to the delight of the roasted kabocha squash, a kind of Japanese squash, which Largey had equipped with kale, mushrooms and passion fruit. (Holland had previously had pumpkin seeds, but never the fruit itself).

"I really feel like a Thanksgiving," explained Largey.

"It's hard to start with probably the best pumpkin I've ever had," Holland said playfully. "Every pumpkin after this will be a disappointment."

"That was delicious," he told Largey. "So, I'll be back tomorrow."

It's not like the pumpkin was contained: "That's so good, passion fruit too," he said, reportedly going for another bite. "And the kale is crispy, so there's a nice texture."

Holland usually returns home in the UK for Thanksgiving, according to the AP.

Wherever he spends the holidays, Largey reportedly left him with some tips to entertain, including how to make macaroni and cheese, one of his favorites.

Before passing through Russo's restaurant in L.A., Holland visited the Jimmy Kimmel night show in October to show off his new superhero costume, discovering that he had lost his mask to Kimmel's co-pilot, Guillermo Rodriguez.

"It's a long story, Jimmy, it's also a sad story," Holland said. "I ran out of web fluid, I was waiting for the B38 [bus] and he snuck up behind me and stole it from my head. "

Spider-Man: far from Home, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, will be released next summer.
