From Marvel Spider-Man: away from home is the long-awaited sequel to Marvel's blockbuster next summer Spider-Man: Homecoming. Following the recent images on the set of Jake Gyllenhall as the villainous Mysterio earlier this month, some new images emerged behind the set stage in New York.
The images show Spidey doing what he does best: walking around the city. Most of the note, however, is his new look suit. While there have been rumors that he could use his iconic stealthy comic suit, this seems to be a variation of his classic suit, but with black sections instead of familiar blue, plus a cool white spider on the back. Spider-Man: away from home arrives at the theaters on July 5, 2019. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, and the cast also includes Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson. HomecomingJon Watts returns as director.
While the specific details of the plot are still hidden, we know that the movie will begin immediately after the events of Avengers 4, which arrives in May. Last year, Marvel boss Kevin Feige talked about how the film will kick off the next phase of the MCU. "So much happens in [the third and fourth Avengers movies]"As you can imagine, and this is so affected by that, we feel what better person to take his hand and guide him to the next incarnation of the MCU, in a realistic and grounded way, than Peter Parker," Feige said. "So, coming out two months later Avengers 4, [that’s what] much of what will be the next Spider-Man movie. "
In related news, production is now over Avengers 4. Last week, Captain America's star, Chris Evans, published an emotional tweet, suggesting that this might be the last Marvel movie we see him in.
