Sorority Noise Issue New Statement on Sexual Assault

adminDecember 31, 2018

In April 2018, Sorority Noise canceled a trip after a sexual assault accusation was made against Cameron Boucher. At that time, Boucher called the statement "false" and "unfounded". Now he has shared a public statement on the band's social media accounts saying that he has had a "positive and constructive conversation with a person who was pressed eight months ago to make a statement about me online." He also writes that the note was approved by the person who made the claim.

Boucher continues: "Although we are valid in our own experience, we agree that anything that happened between us was not purposeful or malicious." He concludes: "I have been in intensive therapy for the last eight months and over the time I have been working toward growth, being aware and moving forward." Read the full statement below.

Sorority Noise has been on hiatus since April. Another of Boucher's bands, Old Gray, had planned a farewell tour of June 2018. These concerts did not take place.
