Expect Spider-Gwen to be quite prominent
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Fresh has not even released yet, and Sony is already planning sequel and spinoffs for the animated feature. According to THR, Sony is already in the planning phase of two new ones Spider-Verse films. A movie will follow up Enter the spider verse while the other is going to be a female-led spin-off with more Spider-Women from over Marvel's shocking big multiverse. Dollars to donuts although it's going to star Spider-Gwen, which seems to have a fairly important role in coming Spider-Verse.
No plot details have been announced for both titles, but Sony said who would be associated with the movie. For direct follow-up, Joaquim Dos Santos, who has worked with both Avatar: The last Airbender and Netflix is Voltron, will lead with a script by David Callaham, who wrote both Wonder Woman 1984 and Zombieland 2. As for the lady, the film led (I do not say Spider-Verse again!), Lauren Montgomery, who also worked on Voltron and many mid-tier DC animated movies, are in conversations to lead. None of these movies have a release date.
Normally, I would be quite careful that a company is already planning spin-off projects and continues before the movie to launch the releases (Dark Universe says hi), I'm not worried at least with this though. Back in October when I saw the first half hour of the film, it exceeded my expectations and was far better than I could have imagined. This is like anti-Venom. It's funny, has a lot of heart to it and made me happy to see the rest of this movie. Sony has a hit on his hands, so if we get more Spider-Verse movies that are as good as this one, I do not care that they count their chickens before they close. SPIDER-VERSE.
