AI may be useful to some people, but a new HBO documentary is highlighted by the dark, creepy and deadly dangers of robots.
The Truth About Killer Robots, who prizes tonight, November 26th, at HBO at 10 ET, focuses on many automation cases, including a Volkswagen factory and a bomb-bearing police gang where people were seriously injured or killed by robots. In the documentary, engineers, journalists and philosophers come together to analyze these scary moments and how robots affect our lives.
The documentary film is narrated by Kodomoroid, a human Japanese android, which takes the audience on a visual journey from robot accidents to automated production. Countries visited in the documentary include China, Germany, Japan and the United States, as AI continues to replace human work on a global scale.
From Zume, a pizza launch where robots make pies to Robot, Robot & Hwang, an AI-based law firm, the documentary shares how automation can be a virtue and a vice, as more technology leads to better business and a reduction in real life relationships. As AI continues to take over bits and pieces of our lives, it will be interesting to see how robots develop in the next few years.
