On this Thanksgiving, Sarah Michelle Gellar is learning that her large following on social media is not necessarily something to be grateful for.
Gellar published a series of revealing photos of flashbacks on her Instagram on Monday, showing her black lingerie, accompanied by the legend: "I'm going to put them in my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday."
The post attracted some famous admirers, with Debra Messing commenting: "Are you MEASURING ME !?" And Tiffani Thiessen wrote: "Is it strange that I also place these photos of you in my house?"
But along with the compliments of Gellar's friends in Hollywood, there were many commentators who criticized the actress for promoting unhealthy eating habits.
"Live life, girl! Eat the delicious food! Do not worry about tomorrow!" An Instagram user wrote, while others took a more combative tone.

"Wow, really surprised that a woman in a position of influence and a mother published this (harshly)," read another comment. "Is that where you place your value? In the size of your thighs? your outstanding hips? of this post.Only narcissism and the (implicit) theory that women should be skinny to be acceptable. You should eliminate this post.mediately after me. "
"I think it's great and obviously very beautiful, but the legend was pretty sad and disappointing, but that's just my opinion and I'm pretty sure it was a joke," said another comment.
Some commentators also defended Gellar, defending his position.
"There will always be people who criticize and politicize anything because they have to do everything about them," reads a commentary. "Ignore them, most women have the same concerns at parties and although our reminder photos are not that impressive, we still use them."
"There's nothing wrong with not wanting to overeat at Thanksgiving," shared another commentator. "I feel like everyone is hiding it in a post that I was probably going to share because it felt beautiful that day, it's a throwback and it looks amazing."
