LOS ANGELES – Some fans stopped after Sarah Michelle Gellar used a sexy photo shoot to post overbite during Thanksgiving.
The star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" shared some photos of a professional shoot in which she was barely dressed to make a joke about her love for vacations.
"I'm just going to put this in my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep," the text said.
That was not well received by some people who expressed their disappointment in the comments.
"Projecting the idea that we should restrict ourselves from eating food to be thin is a dangerous and harmful mentality that clearly torments the minds of many, including celebrities, as seen here," wrote one person.
Some even accused the actress of "embarrassing", but Gellar said that "it could not be further from my intentions."
"I love Thanksgiving and, unfortunately, my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much that I get sick," Gellar wrote. "This was a reminder of a joke to myself not to do that."
She apologized for the misunderstanding.
"I am very sorry that people have been offended by my attempt at humor," Gellar wrote. "Anyone who knows me knows that I will never intentionally" embarrass "anyone for any reason, I am a champion of all people."
