Robert De Niro and his wife for more than 20 years, Grace Hightower have separated, Page Six has learned exclusively.
A source close to the couple confirmed that they no longer live together.
We hear that they are expected to announce their break publicly in the coming weeks.
A friend said: "They are not living together at this time."
Social sources noted that the star of "Raging Bull" De Niro has been alone in the events he used to attend with Hightower in recent months. One source said: "De Niro and Grace are separating." He has been in some things since the end of summer without her, and it is rumored that they are ready. "
De Niro was in a MoMA film on Monday night in honor of Martin Scorsese, along with Leo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Harvey Keitel.
De Niro and Hightower got married in 1997, after dating for almost a decade, and have two small children together. But this is not the first time the couple separates. De Niro filed for divorce in 1999, two years after their marriage, and apparently had a custody battle over their son until their problems were solved and the divorce did not proceed.
Instead, they renewed their wedding vows in 2004 at a star-studded ceremony in the Catskills, in front of friends like Scorsese, Meryl Streep and the co-star of Ben Ninger's "Meet the Parents," which was attended by Nobu.
De Niro met Hightower, a former TWA flight attendant, in 1987, while working at the famous Chow restaurant in London.
He said about his early relationship in a 2013 New York Times profile: "It was a comfort." It was not a whirlwind. "
Since then, Hightower has sometimes been an actress and singer, as well as a philanthropist and entrepreneur who founded the Java Coffee of Grace line. Oscar winner De Niro is also an entrepreneur who backed Nobu, Tribeca Grill and Greenwich Hotel.
He was married once before, with Diahnne Abbott.
