After a fantastic promotion on Tuesday night, where he declared that the "Yes Movement" was dead, WWE unveiled the first defense of the WWE Championship by Daniel Bryan.
Styles will defend his title against former champion, AJ Styles, at the WWE TLC PPV event on Sunday, December 16 in San Jose, California.

The WWE announcement of the match reads as follows:
In WWE TLC, get ready for the long-awaited rematch that will pit the newly crowned WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, against the superstar from whom he stole the title, AJ Styles.
It was a game that was never supposed to happen. The stage had been set for a huge showdown between then-champion Universal and Champion Brock Lesnar in Survivor Series, but when Bryan appeared during a heated exchange between Styles and Lesnar's always instigator defender, Hey Heyman, a fight broke out between them. The phenomenal one and the beard.
As a result, two of the best of the blue brand fought in an impromptu showdown for the WWE Championship later that night, and Bryan did the unthinkable, completely unsporting and kicking styles below the belt when the referee was not looking. Right or wrong, the maneuver gave him the advantage and, moments later, the WWE title.
In the wake of his brutal later match against The Beast in Survivor Series, Bryan returned to the blue mark, rejecting the WWE Universe by claiming that both "Old Daniel Bryan" and "Yes!" They were dead, and the "The New Daniel Bryan" would never again abandon his dreams as he did when he announced his retirement.
Do not miss the very personal Revenge for the WWE Title in Survivor Series, on Sunday, December 16, live at 7 ET / 4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.
Styles has not been seen since he lost the WWE Championship by Styles on the November 13 edition of SmackDown, five days before the Survivor Series where he faced RAW's WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. Instead, it was Bryan who came face to face with Lesnar in Survivor Series (and fell short in the process).
So far, the WWE TLC card looks like this:
- WWE Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles
- WWE Intercontinental Championship
Seth Rollins (c) against Dean Ambrose
- WWE Women's Championship RAW
Ronda Rousey (c) against Nia Jax
- TLC party
Braun Strowman against Baron Corbin
Strowman earns the right to face WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble if he is victorious. Baron Corbin becomes permanent RAW G.M. if he is victorious If Corbin loses, he loses his authority on Monday night RAW.
