Oli Herbet, lead guitarist and founding member of All That Remains, died at age 44.

"We are devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitarist and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away," the rock bank confirmed on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.

The group continued: "Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and composer who defined the rock and metal of the Northeast, its impact on genres and our lives will continue indefinitely."

Herbet's wife, Beth, thanked everyone for her "kind words and thoughts," but hesitated to go into detail about what happened to her husband until his loved ones have "a complete picture."

"As soon as we do, there will be a declaration from the family on this page," he wrote on Herbert's official Facebook page. "In the meantime, respect our privacy, as there are still relatives who are informed of Oli's death."

TMZ and Billboard report that Herbert was found dead in a pond near his home in Connecticut on Tuesday after someone reported that the musician had disappeared before the authorities. The police say that his death does not seem suspicious.

USA TODAY has approached the Connecticut State Police.

Herbert was an original member of All That Remains since 1998, along with vocalist Phil Labonte. It appeared in the nine albums of study of the band.
