Miguel reconnected with his children on the present day during Tuesday, November 20, episode of We are, and the Thanksgiving meeting was as bad as any fan could expect. Meanwhile, the Pearson family also experienced their fair share of holiday drama.
In flashbacks, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and the Big Three passed what would be the last Thanksgiving of Patriarch Pearson with Miguel (Jon orchards), who had been alienated from his children, Amber and Andy, by his ex-wife, Shelly (Wynn Everett). Miguel was touched by the lack of a relationship, so Jack encouraged his friend to show his children that he cared about him.
Miguel and Rebecca went to Amber & # 39; s (Yara Martínez) house in the present for Thanksgiving dinner. Small talk quickly dissipated in Andy (William Rubio) yelling at Rebecca for stealing from Miguel de Shelly. Rebecca was cordial, but Miguel slapped her back, telling her son to show respect to his wife. Miguel also revealed that his children only saw Rebecca once a decade, that she tried to keep Amber and Andy in their lives after the divorce, but chose not to maintain a connection, and Shelly remarried.
Thank you note
Jack celebrated Thanksgiving in Vietnam while he was stationed there with Nicky (Michael Angarano) during the war. He encouraged his brother to line up, but Nicky would not comply. Jack wanted Nicky, a doctor, to repair the infected foot of a boy from the village, but he refused, so Jack did it instead. Later, Nicky told his brother that he distrusted the Vietnamese, including women and children, because he believed that they had killed their first commander. Meanwhile, the boy's mother, who was the woman in Kevin's picture, gave Jack his necklace as a thank you for helping his son.
Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) left Tess (Eris Baker), who was not feeling well, with Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) while the prospective parents prepared the Thanksgiving dinner. Beth, Randall, DejaLyric Ross) and Annie (Faithe Herman) went to a dining room for Randall's campaign, where Beth learned that her husband had been indulging his ideas because he believed that she needed a victory after being fired.
Meanwhile, Tess started her first period, so Kate told him about the process. Tess then confided to Kate that she might be interested in the girls, but she asked her aunt not to tell her parents.
Toby was also doing well, but he collapsed a bit when he was left alone to prepare the food. He resorted to ordering take-out, which Kate nicknamed a "Jack Pearson-level magic" spin.
William (Ron Cephas Jones) met her only boyfriend Jessie (Denis O'Hare) for the first time in flashbacks. Later they found Thanksgiving, and Jessie admitted to William that vacations depressed him and he did not want to lie to people about his sobriety. William invited Jessie to a jazz session and felt remarkably jealous when Jessie brought a woman, but it turned out to be his cousin.
