Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made their first public appearance as future parents!
After the newlyweds announced they are expecting their first child this spring, on Monday morning, they left as part of their first real tour in Sydney.
Meghan wore a sleeveless white dress by Australian designer Karen Gee. Properly called the "Blessed" dress, it presents a simple and structured fit designed to contour the body for an elegant silhouette and sells for $ 1,800. She matched the look with suede pumps.
"It's amazing," Gee tells PEOPLE about Meghan's decision to use her design. "It was a very moving moment because my brand means empowering women and supporting all women, regardless of their shape, size or background, and Meghan's support is absolutely wonderful."
This is not the first time that Meghan finds the perfect set to use at an important time. When she and Harry made their official debut as a couple last September during the Invictus Games in Toronto, she wore a white collared shirt dubbed the "Husband Shirt" from the collection of her designer friend Misha Nonoo, hinting at her future real commitment.
The couple attended a welcome reception at the Admiralty House of Governor General Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove, who gave her her first official baby gift: a fluffy stuffed kangaroo (with a baby Joey!) And Ugg wool boots.
"That's so cute, it's our first baby gift," Meghan said.
Then, they will head to the Taronga Zoo, where Prince William and Kate Middleton visited George in 2014.
Harry and Meghan will meet with two koalas and their joeys, all of them part of the breeding program of the institution. They will also meet with conservation scientists who are working on efforts to reduce illegal wildlife trafficking.
Next, Meghan and Harry will make a spectacular trip through Sydney Harbor to the Sydney Opera House, where they will be entertained with a rehearsal of Spirit 2018 by the Bangarra Dance Theater, an acclaimed modern aboriginal and island dance company from the Torres Strait.
