Both Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton left on Wednesday to participate alone near their hearts: Meghan at the Hubb Community Kitchen, where she helped prepare a meal with the women with whom she created a cookbook to support her cause, and Kate at College. London for an update on neurological research to help the well-being of children. And both royals opted for the perfect autumn shade: burgundy.

Kate, 36, came out with a recycled skirt and matching jacket from Paule Ka over a high-collared top. The mother of three children debuted with the suit during a commitment in 2012 at the Middle Temple in London, where she and Prince William met with a group of law students. He returned to take out the set of his real wardrobe in February of 2017 to visit a charity for children in Wales.
Meanwhile, Meghan opted for a similar shade with more purple tones for her Thanksgiving Eve outing. The Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting her first child in the spring with Prince Harry, wore a dress with a collar and a matching coat from Club Monaco with boots on Givenchy's ankle (her wedding dress designer!) .
In addition to using the same color, the royal sisters chose black stockings, black shoes and pulled their hair in low ponytails.

Meghan's departure also came with another reminder from her sister-in-law. The future mom helped cook rice and vegetables in the kitchen, tying an apron around her waist while preparing food.
Last week, Kate wore an apron to visit Centrepoint's homeless charity with William.
The apparitions occur amid news that Prince William and Prince Harry are considering dividing their joint "court" at Kensington Palace and creating two separate offices.
With William one day ready to be the Prince of Wales, and all that goes with his father's heir, Prince Charles, Harry and Meghan will want to forge their own way, so it's a natural time to separate, experts believe. (The palace has no comment.)
"Meghan's arrival has changed the dynamics of the relationship quite significantly," says royalty author Sally Bedell Smith to PEOPLE. "It's inevitable and practical because it gives Harry and Meghan some freedom to build their own collection of interests and charities."
