Instead of taking a day off from work for Columbus Day, Jimmy Kimmel celebrated the holiday by convincing people on the street that Christopher Columbus had just been confirmed before the Supreme Court.
Before Monday's episode Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host of the night sent his team to Holiday Boulevard for a segment of "Lie Witness News" in which they asked passers-by how they felt about President Donald Trump, who nominated Columbus to sit on the Supreme Court. The results were as cringeworthy as expected.
"I think of all the historical figures, there's George Washington, Lincoln, Columbus could be the third we learn the most about elementary school, so people should know who he is, right?" Kimmel said. "There are many things happening in the country, so we decided to combine two of the great things that are happening right now." We went out into the street this afternoon and asked people what they thought about Christopher Columbus' appointment to the Supreme Court. "
