Jada Pinkett Smith is opening up on her daughter Willow's surprising revelation that she began to "cut" herself when she was younger.
The actress, 47, spoke about the moment while talking with the hosts of Moms Podcast, Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, at Wheelhouse in New York City on Tuesday for the launch of Red Talk TableI go back to Facebook Watch, where they introduced you to business owners and businesswomen.
Pinkett Smith, who was accompanied by her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, revealed that she and Willow, 17, had "talked" about the time after the teen entered the room. Red Talk Table she self-harmed after achieving success with her 2010 single, "Whip My Hair".
"I wanted to make sure it was okay," said Pinkett Smith. "We went through what happened and the moment I realized, as a mother, you also have to give your children space to deal with their own shadow."
