Idris Elba may need to start warming up his vocal cords (and sharpen his claws) for his latest film project.
The 46-year-old actor is in talks to star in the next live action. Cats Film based on the popular Broadway musical created by Andrew Lloyd Webber, according to Deadline.
The musical follows a tribe of cats known as Jellicles, which must decide each year which of them will ascend to the "Heaviside Cloak" and will return as a new cat.
Elba could play Macavity the Mystery Cat, according to the exit. Macavity is known for violating "all human laws" and its ability to disappear from the scene of any crime.
Other stars likely to appear in the film are Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, Ian McKellen and Taylor Swift.

The musical made its theatrical debut in 1981 in London. The production lasted 21 years and the Broadway musical lasted 18 years after opening in 1982. The original Broadway production won seven Tony awards.

"I honestly love the musicals. Beauty and the Beast. I really did it, for Gaston, "Elba said during The interview with Jess Cagle. "I called and I said: 'Listen, I want to go in!' So somewhere they have a tape of me singing."

Unfortunately, the actor said that the tape of his hearing is nowhere to be found.
Although Elba did not get the role (it was for Luke Evans), the actor has continued acting in capricious and fun films like the 2016. The book of the jungle in which Shere Khan expressed, Looking for Dory Y Zootopia.
The untitled Cats The film has a release date for December 2019.
