Now that Hugh Jackman has finished playing Wolverine in the X Men In the movies, the actor has looked back fondly at his superhero era, but is eager to move on in his career.
While speaking with MTV News about how dead Pool Star Ryan Reynolds has tried to convince him to return to play with Logan once again, Jackman conveyed a humorous metaphor that indicates it's time to leave behind Wolverine.
"When I saw dead Pool, I was like, wow that's great. It's only a matter of time, "Jackman began. It's a bit like you're in the best party you've ever been in, you've been dancing for an hour and a half, and then you're like, "It's time ok. If I stay longer, it'll get ugly.
"And on the way home, someone calls you and says:" ONLY PUT MICHAEL JACKSON ON! YOU ARRIVE TO RETURN HERE! And a small part of you says: "I like Michael Jackson," but then just go, I want to go to bed. "
Taking the metaphor further, Josh Horowitz of MTV expands and asks: "So you stay in bed?"
Jackman laughed and claimed the answer, adding that he is encouraging Reynolds to continue playing Deadpool.
"But I'm encouraging him, go away, man, go dance, go for it."
When asked to declare that he would never play Wolverine again, Jackman abstained.
"I just hate those statements," Jackman said. "But I'm finished, I'm finished, those things are after you, somehow they're chasing you."
Jackman said he is excited to see what the X-Men franchise will look like in the hands of Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, praising Feige for his guidance on the original X Men Film when the producer was working for Lauren Shuler Donner.
"We've been friends ever since," Jackman shared, "and nothing makes me happier to know that someone who is purely creative, purely a lover of the legacy of those comics is so successful."
"You know, you listen all the time & # 39; The Hollywood race with the suits & # 39; and I'm going & # 39; Kevin Feige & # 39 ;. If it's a suit, it has a cape," joked Jackman.
The purchase of Disney from Fox's assets is not yet complete, so fans will have to wait a bit before seeing how Marvel Studios will take on the X-Men and Wolverine. But it's good to know that Jackman is as excited as the rest of us.
