The hosts of the night joined the media frenzy at the meeting of Kanye West with President Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday as they dissected the filmed meeting.
During the couple's meeting, West referred to himself as a "son of a bitch" and made a long tirade that ended with him circling Trump's desk and hugging him. West put on a "Make America Great Again" hat (which makes him feel like "Superman") and informed Trump that he ignored the president's detractors.
"There was a crazy lunatic in the Oval Office today and he had to sit there in silence while Kanye West did this" The daily show The host, Trevor Noah, was quick to joke, before showing a news clip of the rapper talking throughout the meeting. Noah mentioned that he was not buying Trump's praise of West. "You know, Trump's mouth said:" That was awesome, "but you can see what I was thinking." Is he racist if I call the police? "Noah joked.
Although Noah said he was not "a fan of this new Kanye West," he was amused to see that the rapper had the ability to "make Trump feel like Trump makes us feel every day."
Jimmy Kimmel said the meeting was proof that jokes can "be written" sometimes. "You know, I feel like every day I say it was a crazy day, today was the craziest day," Kimmel said during her opening monologue.
Kimmel also taunted the conversation as typical "held between people who wear hospital bracelets." Kimmel also compared their exchange as reminiscent of Tom Hanks talking to Wilson the Volleyball in Discard. "That's the president of the United States sitting quietly while an irrational madman criticizes him and tells him a lot, now he knows how we feel, every morning when we wake up with him."
"If you told me 10 years ago that Trump and Kanye would meet in the White House, I would have said:" Oh, my God, does Kanye become president? " said Jimmy Fallon in his show.
Fallon said a video of the meeting shows West typing in his phone's access code, which is all zeros. "Then Trump said: 'Hey, that's the same password I use for nuclear codes,'" he joked with his impression of Trump. "When Putin saw that it was like, 'It's too easy'."
