According to US media citing legal documents, the Oscar winner for divorce submits on Thursday by wife Keisha Nash-Whitaker. As a reason, the 57-year-old called "invincible differences".
Married since 1996
Whitaker had married his actress colleague in 1996. The two have two daughters who are already adults. Both had brought another child into the marriage. On Christmas Day, the actor wrote on Twitter: "Christmas is a celebration – a time of year when we are reminded that the ties between our families, friends, fellow citizens and others are based on sharing and joy."
Whitaker became internationally known for films such as "Platoon", "The Color of Money" and "Good Morning, Vietnam". In "The Last King of Scotland – In Power Links", he presented the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and was awarded in 2007 with Oscar for Best Lead. He was also seen in "The Butler" and "Black Panther".
