While the internet never gets the dream of watching Donald Glover (AKA: Childish Gambino), a live-action Spider-Man depicts the creators of the upcoming Spidey movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Fresh, may have a surprise that will satisfy Glover lovers.
In an interview with Fandango, Chris Miller (producer) and Phil Lord (producer / author) were asked about a possible cameo of the actor / author / director / comedian / rapper / producer (his summary puts everyone else in disgrace) in upcoming Animated Movies.
"… there's a quick shot of Donald Glover in a scene when Miles [Morales] visiting unkelens apartment? "asks Fandango.
"It looks as if he is," strives the Lord. Miller adds that he is not sure if they are "legally allowed to say", but Lord expands a little by mentioning Community and the "foundation for support" that it achieved for a "Spider-Man of Color".
In fact, it may not be a Miles Morales (the central character of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Fresh) without Glover. In a season two episode of Community, actor character, Troy Barnes, donned some Spider-Man pajamas, who eventually launched the campaign for him to play the character. Shortly after, Miles Morales was created by author Brian Michael Bendis and the artist Sara Pichelli, who was influenced by Community moment.
Morales first came to Marvel Comics in 2011, just about a year later Community episode, "Anthropology 101," aired. Since then, Donald Glover has not been a stranger to the wide world of Spider-Man content. In 2015, he pronounced Morales in two episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man. He also played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, steals the two scenes he was in. (Davis will be pronounced by Mahershala Ali i Spider-Verse.)
The Lord added, "We thought it was a nice little nod," but Miller was quick to recall the sentence.
"It may or may not really be in the movie," Miller explained, "you have to look to find out …" If you're not lucky enough to see Glover into Spider-Verse, you will definitely hear him vote Simba in the upcoming live action The Lion King. Also the third season of his television series, Atlanta, returns to FX in 2019.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Fresh follows several versions of the friendly neighborhood hero, including the iconic Peter Parker (pronounced by Jake Johnson). The film also stars Shameik Moore (as Miles), Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber, Nicolas Cage, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Lily Tomlin, Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Velez.
Capture Miles Morales and the other Spideys in theaters on December 14, 2018.
