Eva Padberg is pregnant and expects a girl. Her offspring will use the top model now for a good cause. For an action by the Unicef Children's Fund, it wants to receive donations to disadvantaged children in the world instead of gifts for their baby.
"As an expectant mother, I no longer want my child to be safe, protected and happy," said the 38-year-old, according to a Unicef release. "But I also want it to be given to every child in the world." Therefore, the Padberg supports the baby shower campaign. Here people can choose and donate supplies to Unicef Germany.
The top model has been involved in the work of the UN Children's Fund since 2006 and has already visited several projects, for example in Cambodia and the Philippines. "Baby Shower" refers to parties before birth of a child in which the expectant mother is presented. Padberg is not the first celebrity to stand for a Unicef "Baby Shower" godmother. Even pop singer Shakira had participated in the act before she was born.
Padberg, who was born in Thuringia and her husband Niklas Worgt is a couple since teenage years and married since 2006. As duo "Dapayk & Padberg" they make electronic music together.
The desire to have children was always there, but the couple had not done any stress, the model said last year the magazine "Bunte". "The desire for a child was so strong in neither of us that we would not be complete without it," Padberg said. "From the stress and pressure from the outside we have set free and let things go."
