It was anything but majestic!
On Tuesday night, he announced high attendance at the jury "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (RTL): Prince Ralph Laurenz in Arabia. "I'm originally a noble, dating back to English and Prussian crowns," said the 22-year-old candidate proudly.
"You can still make music as well, if you don't have a difficult stage name, it won't work," says Laurenz Balz, when Dortmund is actually called. His goal: "I want to be a great pop singer or a rock star or a b & b song." And of course superstar!
With crowned scepter and glitter jacket, it went 22 years before the DSDS jury – and fell straight to Poptitan Dieter Bohlen (64). "If you asked me who was the worst dressed candidate so far, I would call your name," said the jury's boss. "It was just my plan to attract attention with a bad look," Laurenz discouraged, "so you can achieve a lot."
Maybe more than with his song! With "A Change Coming" by soul legend Sam Cooke, the noble noble wanted to try one of the greatest titles in music history.
"I'm confused! If you sing well, I'll freak out," Xavier Naidoo, 47, was skeptical. But it didn't happen! After just a few lines, Bohlen broke the performance. "It wasn't that bad, but it doesn't get any worse," Poptitan said, "you have no chance in this profession!" There was also a clear "No" from the other jury members.
However, Laurenz was not discouraged by this: "I will search for a new name and be resurrected from the subway," he declared confidently.
Then it certainly works …
