Gemma Collins may have impressed the Dancing on Ice viewers with their extraordinary performance on the ITV ice skating competition, but the TOWIE diva has revealed that her mother had other showbiz future plans.
Before a career in reality removed, Gemma gave everything on the dance floor, and her mother hoped she would be "next Madonna".
While formerly Strictly Professional James Jordan has a well-documented dance history, there are not as many as "The GC" who have spent a lot of time grasping the basics of dance.
How wrong this is though and after Dancing on Ice judge Jayne Torvill, who was an Olympic champion, asked if Gemma had a previous dance tribe and said she was "actually very nice."
For her part, Gemma has said that it was more than just dancing as there was hope that she emulated one of the greatest female stars in pop history.
As a child, Gemma's weekends were spent at the dance school, and she admits her mother had "convinced me to be the next Madonna.
"I was sent to Everett Dance Academy for my introduction to show business. The games became a regular weekend party."
GC could not have left much of an impression when her old teacher, Diane Everett, who now runs the Majestic Academy of Dance in Essex, could not remember her in particular and said diplomatically: "I have learned thousands of people."
While Madonna has proven to be a bit out of reach, Gemma has previously enlarged her dance conditions.
When there were rumors that she was going to join Strict Come Dancing, she returned to Judge Craig Revel Horwood's "for low rent" jibe by saying, "I won the South East England champion for dance, of course he would love me. "
Gemma will hope her time on Dancing on Ice will help her get back on track to fulfill her mother's dream.
