adminOctober 8, 2018

Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who took his own life last year, was commemorated by artist Nick Marra in a life-size bronze sculpture. The statue, now in full view at the Seattle Pop Culture Museum (formerly known as the Experience Music Project), shows Cornell holding an electric guitar and reaching the sky. The work of art was commissioned by Cornell's wife, Vicky. Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden also attended the opening ceremony. Watch the Cornell children unveil the statue and see more of the ceremony through Q13 Fox News.

Read the Pitchfork obituary for Cornell, "Chris Cornell of Soundgarden was more than just a leader of Grunge."
