Being a soap villain can make many people's career an actor, but there is a downside that can make their personal life a living hell.
Brian Capron has often been declared the most hated soap bar of all time, for his depiction of serial killer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street.
While fears among the viewers 15 years ago, now 71-year-olds have revealed that he has still not entered the social media, for fear of being targeted at hates.
Speaking with the Daily Star, Brian said he would "worry about looking all the time" with "spotlight on celebrity social media accounts" and would find it very difficult, "everyone criticizes you."
Brian revealed that he still gets a lot of abuse for his ITV soap trip, and this has meant that he never opened a Twitter or Facebook account.
He believed that he is, "not even going to go there" and he did not, "will see any trolls".
Brian was not preoccupied with any reviews fans of Coronation Street may have of their performance. He revealed, "I didn't want to see anyone say how horrible I was."
Some 20 million people saw a dramatic exit from the soap in 2003 after killing, and his return since then.
It has been difficult 15 years ago to leave Weatherfield though, and Brian admitted it is a dream to be "recognized everywhere", but after playing a bad character, he said, "It gets a bit of a problem."
