Last week we got our long-awaited first look at Ruby Rose as Batwoman, and now we've had our first unofficial look at Tyler Hoechlin's Superman at this year's Arrowverse Crossing, "Elseworlds," courtesy of the hero who started it all.
Monday, Arrow Star Stephen Amell shared a picture behind the scene of himself with The flashGrant Gustin and Hoechlin, who wear a completely black version of the Superman costume. (In the comics, Superman wore a similar outfit without a hood when he was resurrected after his deadly fight against Judgment Day, but we doubt this is a Death of superman script.)
Check it out:
The other interesting detail in the photo is that neither Gustin nor Amell seem to be wearing their usual superhero costumes. Instead of their usual red and green threads, they wear black pants and boots. Why? The reason remains unclear. (It's also worth noting that Amell no longer has the beard of Oliver's prison).
Although all in Arrowverse have remained silent about what to expect from "Elseworlds", who will see Flash (Gustin), Green Arrow (Amell) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) finally meet the Batman of Gotham City. Arrow Driver Beth Schwartz scoffed at how she compares to the "X-Earth Crisis" of last year's multiverse jump.
"This one does not feel as dark as last season," Schwartz told EW at the CW fall launch party on Saturday. "Obviously there were Nazis last season, I definitely think there's a lot more fun at the crossroads this year."
Schwartz went on to explain how the former Arrow The showrunner Marc Guggenheim, who is consulting the program this season, has taken the lead at the crossroads. "Now I'm calling it, I coined this term, the showrunner of the cross-episodes," he said. "It's been huge, huge in the crossovers, and it really is at the right point for those episodes and they're going to be incredible."
In addition to presenting the debut of Batwoman and the appearance of Superman in the three installments, "Elseworlds" will include GrimmIt's Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane; Designated survivorThere's LaMonica Garrett as the Monitor; Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries; and Jeremy Davies as a potentially insane Arkham Asylum teacher, which is why the Arrowverse trinity arrives in Gotham City in the first place.
"Elseworlds" begins on Sunday, December 9, with The flash At 8 pm.; continues on Monday, December 10, at 8 p.m. with Arrow; and concludes the following night at 8 p.m. with Supergirl.
