Pete Davidson seems to joke about rushing to propose in a "Saturday Night Live" promotion. And the ex-fiance Ariana Grande does not have fun.

What happens when you have a tattoo tied to an ex? You have it covered, and also the stars.

The whirlwind of the romance between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson included getting ink that reminded them of each other, but since their separation in October, they seem to be closing that chapter of their lives with updated designs.

On Friday, fans were quick to point out that Davidson's small tattoo of Davidson's name on his finger is now covered with a heart, as seen in a close-up photo of his hand that he posted on Instagram promoting his next "thank you" , the next "video music.

It was only a matter of time before Grande covered the ink professionally. During his pre-recorded performance on the NBC musical special "A Very Wicked Halloween," he used a Band-Aid to cover his "Pete" tattoo.

Likewise, Davidson's tattoo of the bunny ear "Dangerous Woman" that was just behind the ear has also been covered with a solid black heart.

This is not the first tattoo dedicated to Davidson that Grande has covered since the breakup.

At the end of October, the fans noticed that the singer's "Reborn" ink adorning the side of his left hand was covered by a fern.
