The cast of "Saturday Night Live" still has a lot to say about Kanye West after its now infamous Trump rant after the credits rolled in the opening episode of the season.

Seth Meyers, who returned to the program to present for the first time after a period of 15 years as a principal writer and host of "Weekend Update," recalled a sketch he worked on years ago when the rapper was a musical guest.

"We presented him with an outline in which he would interrupt the prize speeches that said they had made a mistake and that he should have won," Meyers said in his opening monologue. "And Kanye said, that's very funny, because I would do that & # 39 ;."

"What is a good self-awareness," joked the host.

Meyers described the sketch, in which West took part in the Kids & # 39; Choice Awards, the Nobel Prize and "a state fair, because he was upset because his pumpkin did not win."

The kicker? West's infamous interruption of the 2009 VMA acceptance speech by Taylor Swift ("I let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time") happened two years ago after the sketch

Yes, you read it right. After.

"All the time I was telling you that story, you thought it was based on him interrupting Taylor Swift," Meyers continued. "That had not happened yet." Kanye made an outline of how crazy he was when he interrupted the speeches and two years later, he was at an awards show and thought: & # 39; I should do it again & # 39 ;.

"Then, when people say:" Are you surprised that Kanye supports Trump? "I say" no "," he concluded.
