Pop the champagne, turn up the volume and make sure you're registered to vote, because the American Music Awards 2018 were all about fun, success and active change this year.

It was a great night for Taylor Swift, who took home a record four awards while continuing her political stance during her last Artist of the Year speech, where she encouraged viewers to go out and vote in the midterm elections on next month. He also opened the show with an explosive performance of "I Did Something Bad".

As for Cardi B, she also had an exciting night, giving her first performance in an awards program since giving birth to her daughter Kulture. The rapper took home three awards and gave a widely praised performance of "I like it" with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

Things got even more interesting when the cameras were not rolling. This is what happened behind the scenes in the AMA:

1. Post Malone was thirsty

The rapper "Rockstar" was clearly having a good time at the annual awards ceremony. He was first seen with a red plastic cup on the red carpet, and then with a glass full of red wine in the audience of the show. When it was time for him to accept his prize, Post handed his empty glass to the person sitting next to him before going on stage. He was later seen at the bar changing his order one more time. 4. Taylor Swift and Cardi B come together

We celebrate a future collaboration! Taylor Swift made a new friend from the A list in the AMA audience: the new mom, Cardi B! Taylor was the one who approached Cardi for the photo, which the rapper happily took.

5. Cardi B is not impressed with Tracee Ellis Ross

Despite the jokes with Taylor, seeing her return to the stage and even doing a salsa dance in her seat 15 minutes before the show began, Cardi was not particularly excited when presenter Tracee Ellis Ross covered her song, "Bodak Yellow. 6. Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson love the AMA
