With the first PPV for WWE women, Evolution, this Sunday, it seemed that the WWE was doing everything possible to stack some of the biggest stars for your event, be it a woman of the current generation or an older one. Raw Star Alexa Bliss, who has positioned herself as one of the best talented women in WWE, was originally scheduled to team up with Mickie James to face Trish Stratus and Lita in a team match.
However, new developments emerged when WWE announced today on its official website that Bliss was pulled from the game due to an injury, with Alicia Fox taking her place. Although Bliss is still expected to appear on the PPV, it seems that due to the injury he suffered, he may not have any physical action.
"The past and the present collide in WWE Evolution when the WWE Hall of Fame Trish Stratus and Lita come together to fight Mickie James and Alicia Fox in the innovative pay-per-view event," WWE declared (via WWE .com).
"Although James was originally scheduled to team up with Alexa Bliss, The Goddess will not compete because of an injury, and will be replaced by the cunning Fox in this successful showdown, the astute Bliss will still be present in the corner of Mickie and Alicia."
Since losing to Ronda Rousey in Summerslam, it seems that Bliss has dropped a level or two in terms of momentum, and being pulled from a tag match with Lita and Trish Stratus can make things worse. That said, WWE has not mentioned the type of injury Bliss suffers, so its return to action within the ring is an open question. It is also unknown at this point how much Bliss will appear in Raw while she is injured, since she may only be scheduled to appear on the Evolution PPV.
