In "Anna and the King" (1999), Chow Yun-Fat (63) played the Sami king Mongkut. In reality, he really acts like a king.
Chow was in front of the camera with movie stars such as Johnny Depp (55) and Jodie Foster (56); In 2015, he was named the 24th highest paid actor by Forbes magazine, co-starring Russell Crowe (54).
According to the Independent newspaper, the current fortune of the Hollywood star is estimated at over 600 million euros. Chow will now donate this fortune completely (!).
Because instead of living a life in a nutshell, Chow avoids luxury. In his native Hong Kong, he is known for leading a down to earth life. According to the newspaper, he uses the subway to get from A to B, and for 17 years he had an old-fashioned Nokia phone, which he just replaced when it was broken.
How Chow stands for his money
"Money is not something I can own forever. If one day you are away, give it to others to use it," said Chow to the South Korean broadcaster Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation.
Chow: "You can't take your money to the bank when you're dead."
The Mega Star just doesn't make much money and gives it better – great!
