Sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter That the actor is in negotiations to star. The MandalorianJon Favreau's Star Wars series will premiere at Disney + next year.
Disney and the representatives of Pascal declined to comment.
The Mandalorian takes place after the events of The return of the Jedi and before the villain First Order rose to replace the Empire. Favreau has described it as following "the tribulations of a lone gunman in the far reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic." The series has reserved a number of high-profile directors, including Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Star Wars: The saga of the clonesDave Filoni. The Favreau executive produces with Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Filoni.
Disney is developing multiple Star Wars spinoff series for its broadcast service, including one supplemented by Rogue One star diego luna. Disney is positioning Disney +, which will be launched next year, as a competitor to Netflix, and will make it the exclusive home of Marvel movies and series, as well as Pixar and other Lucasfilm properties.
Pascal is the first cast member on board The Mandalorian. The actor broke out on the fourth season of HBO's. game of Thrones as the fan favorite Oberyn Martell and went on to star in Netflix Narcos. He also had a prominent role in the past year. Kingsman: The Golden Circle and is ready to appear in Beale street, in theaters this month. Pascal is filming Wonder Woman 1984 for Warner Bros.
