You still really care "Dancing With the Stars", even if you were furious about this season and you promised never to see her again.
That is the essence of many emails I received about the future of the ABC dance contest. I asked if the long-term coup could be saved, and the future of the program is clearly in doubt after the ratings fell by 27.th season.
Presenter Tom Bergeron has tweeted that fans are unlikely to see a spring edition, but "hopefully in the fall." "DWTS" has to get out of the way of "American Idol".
That's another reason to be in a bad mood about the victory of radio announcer Bobby Bones over the most deserving Juan Pablo Di Pace and Milo Manheim. Bones was not the best dancer, but his victory helps promote his expanded role as an internal mentor in the upcoming "Idol" season.
If "DWTS" returns, the producers could start with some simple corrections.
It's a dance show, so let's see the whole routine. Do not disguise the dance with lights or fog that distract you. Do not cut the singer.
Let's see the couple go through each movement. Show us your bodies, from head to toe, an approach that worked wonderfully well for Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.
Give more weight to the brands of the judges, so "DWTS" is not reduced to a popularity contest.
Let the judges save worthy dancers when the eliminations are meaningless.
Bring back the end of the two-night season. Everything felt rushed this season.
You had suggestions. Here are some.
Qtip34 wrote: "What happened to the judges who criticized the dance? Now it looks more like a popularity contest; otherwise, there would have been an end to the performance of the best dancers. Len [Goodman] he still manages to remember the rules and scores properly from time to time, but not much less than before. You may have trouble looking at the next time, if there is a next time. "
Jean wrote: "All ABC has to do is change the voting system, the audience rarely gets it right, give them 30 percent, or better yet, they only have the votes of the judges!
Shari wrote: "In my opinion, there should be no celebrities with previous dance experience of any kind. The contest should be all about no dancers and the progress they make each week. People like Bobby Bones and Grocery Store Joe are more interesting than seeing celebrities who are so successful that you can not tell which is the celebrity and which is the professional. "
Annette wrote: "I have been a fine for a long time of & DWTS & # 39; and I have not missed a season." I was very disappointed with the final results, Juan or Milo should have won. See the show [after] This last debacle of the season. It was a great show that did not come out with a bang; It came out with a thud!
Carmen left me: "Your article is ridiculous! Who are you to say who should win and who should not? In fact, the fans who have followed the program since season 1 were tired of the participants who had previous experience in the dance and competed against those who had no previous experience. Those contestants were the most fun to watch, since you could witness their growth. Grocery store Joe was that person this year. "I did not like that Bones beat Milo this year, but it is what he is and you DO NOT HAVE the right to try to influence the show of the people."
I've also been a fan, and I hope the producers and ABC will help update a long-time favorite.
It would be a shame if we saw the last of "DWTS".
